The Feminine in the Poetry of Yunus Emre: A Case Study in the Hierophanic Dialectics of Mystical Islamic Experience
This article is about the most important Turkish Sufi poet and, more specifically, about the presence and the pragmatics of ‘the Feminine’ in his experience—inasmuch as the latter is reflected in his work. To be sure, this is a case study, in the sense that it aspires to provide only an idea as to how ‘the Feminine’ pervades Sufi hierophanics/religion, and also in the sense that it does not assume to be a comprehensive and exhaustive discussion—not even of Yunus Emre himself. Select(ed) poems of Yunus Emre are explored in the methodological light of what Mircea Eliade has dubbed ‘hierophanic dialectics’, and what Catherine Clément and Julia Kristeva regard as ‘the Feminine’ in relation to the sacred/religious from the perspective of social anthropology and psychoanalysis. In the poetry of Yunus Emre ‘the Feminine’ turns out to be the subtle yet decisive challenge, opposition, and subversion that, on the one hand, negates symbolic Islam and, on the other, affirms imaginary Islam in the name of the Islamic real—to evoke the terminology of Jacques Lacan.

Yûnus Emre, Niyāzī-i Mıṣrī ve İsmāʿīl Ḥaḳḳī Bursevī’de Türk tasavvuf şiirine özgü mażmūn arayışları
Tasavvuf şiiri olsun divan şiiri olsun her iki şiirimizin de birçok ulusun şiiri gibi evrensel cazibesi ve klasik değeri vardır. Her iki zümrenin şairi de Türk toplumunda evvelce var olan potansiyelden güç alarak, her bir ferdin ayrı ayrı şuur düzeyini yükseltmiş, erdemli bir toplum yaratmıştır. İki şiir arasında bir farktan söz edilecekse eğer, o da divan şiirinin statik; tasavvuf şiirinin ise divan şiirine nispetle daha dinamik oluşudur. Divan şiirinin kendine özgü bir nazım dünyası olduğu gibi tasavvuf şiirinin de farklı manâ ve mefhumlarla şekillenen bir duygu evreni vardır. Divan şiirinde zekâya dayalı zevk ve hayal; tasavvuf şiirinde ise sezgiye dayalı ilham ve varidat söz konusudur. Bunlar bazen teşbih, bazen mecaz, bazen istiarelerle şiirleşir; nazım olur, giderek birer mażmūna dönüşür. Bugüne kadar mażmūn denildiğinde ilk akla gelenin divan şiiri olması, tasavvuf şiirine özgü mażmūnları geride bırakmıştır. Oysa tasavvuf şiiri de mażmūnları bakımından hayli ilgi çekici, bir o kadar da zengindir. Tasavvuf edebiyatına ait terimler, adı terim olsa da şiirde her biri birer hâl, makam veya tecrübedir. Bu nedenle terim olarak nitelediğimiz tasavvuf şiirine ait pek çok kavram; telmih, teşbih ve mecaz içinde yer alıp birer mażmūn olabilir. Üç başlık altında ve üç mutasavvıf şairimizin beyitleriyle örneklendirebileceğimiz yazımızın amacı, Türk tasavvuf şiirinin divan şiirinden bağımsız zengin bir mażmūn kadrosunun varlığına dikkat çekmektir. Türk tasavvuf şiirine ait mażmūnlar konusu, bugüne kadar fazlaca değinilmemiş olması bakımından önemli sayılmalıdır.
Turkish foreign minister, Bosnian official open cultural centre in Sarajevo
Sarajevo, 17 October: Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Bosnian Presidency Member Haris Silajdzic inaugurated Saturday [17 October] the \"Yunus Emre Culture Centre\" in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. Turkish courses will be offered in the Yunus Emre Culture Centre which will house works depicting Turkish culture. Yunus Emre, who lived around 13th and 14th centuries, was a Turkish poet and Sufi mystic. Yunus Emre is one of the first known Turkish poets to have composed works in the spoken Turkish of his own age and region rather than Persian or Arabic.
